Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Travel – Transportation from San Juan International airport will be provided by our retreat driver.
Hotel Check-in – Perfectly situated on the coast of Isabela, we’ll begin our adventure in the comfort and allure of Villas Del Mar Hau resort.
Welcome Dinner – You’ll get all the details of our week together while enjoying tropical flavors and an unforgettable dining experience at Olas Y Arenas. Relax, enjoy and connect with your fellow travelers on this experience.
Day 1 – Pozos & Sea stacks of Isabela
AM In-Field Photo Session – We’ll head out early to Tunel de Guajataca and Pocita de La Princesa to catch the morning golden hours for you to create stunning images in these two locations. You’ll be amazed what these two unique locations will provide for you on this first coastal photography day.
Lunch – You’ll have time to grab lunch, relax or enjoy the amazing resort amenities. We’ve carefully crafted enough time for your enjoyment.
PM In-Field Photo Session – Marvel at the one and only Pozo de Jacinto, while perfecting your skills during this sunset shoot. Get ready to discover the real magic of the Atlantic hitting this northern coastal gem.
Day 2 – Faro De Punta Higuero, Rincon
Hotel Check-Out & Travel to Rincon – enjoy a relaxed morning in the resort and Playa Montones before heading to our next destination.
Lunch on we’ll stop to grab lunch, connect, and Q&A on the way to Rincon

PM In-Field Photo Session Let your breath be taken away with an unforgettable sunset at Faro de Punta Higuero (Rincon Lighthouse). This is one of the highlights of our retreat, from the magnificent views of Desecheo Island under the perfect orange hues, to witnessing Pelicans gliding along the surf, to the one and only Rincon Faro, be ready to immerse yourself in this experience.
Dinner after our sunset shoot, take your pic for a fun dinner at either Ola Sunset Cafe or Cady’s Calypso before heading back to the hotel.
Day 3 – Best of Rincon’s Gems
AM In-Field Photo Session – From beaches to rock formations to surfers in action – we’ll cover it all. You just bring your curiosity, creative nature and your passion for photography, we’ll do the rest.
Lunch – this is your time, grab a delicious lunch in Rincon, rest and relax, work on your images, shop the town, you choose!
Post-processing Workshop – Time to roll up your sleeves and let Alan help you create images you never thought possible with this hands-on, personalized workshop session. Our hands-on workshops are designed with you in mind, all levels are welcomed and you will all leave with ready to print images from this experience.
Day 4 – Cabo Rojo Cliffs & Faro Los Morillos
Hotel Check-Out & Travel – to the Southwestern most area of Puerto Rico – Combate Beach, Cabo Rojo. Enjoy a leasure morning and get ready for a gorgeous ride to our next destination.
Lunch on we’ll stop to grab lunch, connect, and Q&A on the way to Cabo Rojo
Hotel Check-In – Perfectly located for our in-field photo sessions at the Cabo Rojo cliffs, Combate Beach Resort is the perfect place for you to rest, relax, enjoy as we continue our photography adventure.
PM In-Field Photo Session – With plenty of time for a sunset shoot, we’ll head to the Cliffs and Faro areas. This is another one of our big highlights of this trip and photo experience. This is where Alan, your instructor started his landscape photography career, over 25 years ago. We’ve carefully arranged multiple days at this location and once you experience it, you’ll know why.
Day 5 – Puente de Piedra, Cueva Jaguey & More
AM In-Field Photo Session – at be ready to head back out early, this time we’ll take a detour before the Faro towards Puente de Piedra Beach, Cueva Jagüey and other coves and hidden treasures you’ll find along the cliffs. It’s hard to put into words how these two locations will captivate your heart and nurture your creativity.
Lunch – you’ll have plenty of time, to unwind, grab lunch, chill at the hotel or explore after a jammed packed AM photo session.
Post-processing Workshop – Time to roll up your sleeves and let Alan help you create images you never thought possible with this hands-on, personalized workshop session. Our hands-on workshops are designed with you in mind, all levels are welcomed and you will all leave with ready to print images from this experience.
Fun PM Session – We’ll take a short ride to the bustlling fishing town of Boqueron, one of our favorite places in Cabo Rojo. Here you’ll have plenty of time to grab dinner or explore the town’s famous Ostiones kiosks, do some shopping, you get to choose. We’ll reconvine and head back to the hotel together.
Day 6 – Final Image Review & Farewell Dinner
Tentative AM In-Field Photo Session – this session is here to provide us with extra time in the area for additional photo sessions shall we need it due to weather, or for those who want a bit of additional adventure.
Post-processing Workshop – We’ll wrap up with a final image review, where you’ll receive constructive feedback and celebrate the incredible work you’ve created.
Farewell Dinner – After an unforgettable week of photography, adventure, and creative growth, we’ll come together one last time for a celebratory farewell dinner. Enjoy great food, share stories, and reflect on the experiences we’ve had. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the workshop, connect with new friends, and toast to the memories made.
Day 7 – Goodbyes & Departure to San Juan
Travel – We’ll say our goodbyes and check out of our hotel. Travel arrnagements to either Aguadilla or San Juan for flights home will be made.
